Im sure you have already heard, but if you haven't, Bill Callahan has announced that he is playing an intimate show tonite with his friends Thor and Jonathan (Shearwater). Bill is, in our humble opinion, is one of the greatest songwriters of our time, not to mention a good friend and great guy. If you arent hip to his music by now, dammit, you should be. Take the time to listen to his writing, it will change you.
Here are some more details:
Get there early, there will be limited viewing space. At his request, Bill will be playing on the original stage set up (inside), underneath the projection screen, the rusted eagle, and the wooden elk. There is room for less than 80 people in there, so if you want to see it (and you remember this), you know what to do.
We will probably open the green room upstairs for booze and lounging as well. If you want to get there early, we will be there....engulfed in Smog.
A big thanks to Bill for thinking of us. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
Some amazing footage of Bill below shot by our friends at Super! Alright! and KUT:

THE ONION AND FRVRRR PRESENT: TOKYO POLICE CLUB
with: TILL WE'RE BLUE, THE LAUGHING, CAR STEREO (WARS)
MONDAY NIGHT, MAR 10, 2008
"Canadian foursome Tokyo Police Club, denizens of the young side of things, should be college (sorry, university) students somewhere, getting into bars legally for the first time and mastering the fine art of term paper procrastination. Instead, they find themselves never-endingly out on the hard road with the likes of Art Brut, Cold War Kids and others, continuing to develop a sound that capitalizes on short bursts of energy, fast-twitch muscles and lyrics that gravitate toward a future that involves children handcrafting spaceships by fluorescent light when they should be sacked out with their stuffed animals hugged tightly"

"Austinist & Gothamist are proud to announce our day party, taking place on Wednesday, March 12 at the Mohawk. The party kicks off around 11 a.m., and the day ends at 6, but not before Shout Out Louds, Shearwater, Liam Finn and Phosphorescent perform.
This year, we'll be joined by Daytrotter, who will be streaming some of the performances live on the web, and local talent Annie Ray will be working hard in her photo booth as well.
As usual, the party is free, open to all. See you then!"
-AUSTINIST
RHAPSODY PRESENTS: CLIPSE, CUT COPY, SONS & DAUGHTERS
with: BRISTISH SEA POWER, NO AGE, & MORE
THURSDAY (DAY), MAR 13, 2008
"If you don't think that rhymes about selling cocaine can be delightful, then you should hear "We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 2," an impressive exercise in hip-hop formalism. Both brothers have tough, thin, back-of-the-throat voices. (They were joined onstage, as they are on the mixtape, by their protégés Ab-Liva and Sandman.) And despite their grim subject matter, you can tell they're rhyming for the pure thrill of it. The mood stays deadpan, but each stanza is an ode to the joys of internal rhymes, sly punch lines, slick threats."
-NEW YORK TIMES on CLIPSE
